Administrative HistoryThe Chester Labour Party was formed following a meeting of the Chester Trades Council at the Oddfellows Hall in Lower Bridge Street in September 1918. Its first candidate, Mr Arthur Mason, stood at the general election of December 1918. Its first member, one Robert Mathewson, was elected to the City Council in 1919.
