Administrative HistoryCanon Rupert H Morris, (1844-1918), was a member of the Chester Archaeological Society, and had a keen interest in local history and archaeology. He was the author of: Chester in the Plantagenet and Tudor Reigns, 1894, based on a detailed study of the Chester Corporation and other records; and Diocesan Histories: Chester, 1895. In 1884, he was appointed chaplain and librarian to the Duke of Westminster In the last years of his life he was working on Chester in the seventeenth century, a work completed after his death by P H Lawson, and published as 'The Siege of Chester 1643-1646', in JCAS, vol 25, 1923. An obituary to Canon Morris is contained in JCAS vol 22, 1918, pp 208-212. Morris died in 1918..
