Administrative History | This school was opened in 1879 in Lower Bridge Street, as a successor to St. Olave's Ragged School and served the parishes of St. Michael and St. Olave. It consisted of a Boys' department and a Girls' and Infants' department. The decline in numbers of the pupils attending the school became so great that in 1941 the managers decided to ask the City Council to close the school and arrange for the pupils to enter other city schools. This probably did not take place until 1948 (ZD/ES/20/3) |
