Administrative HistoryCherry Grove Schools were opened by Chester City Council in 1910, and replaced Boughton British Schools [see ZD/ES/7/1-3 and ZD/ES/33/1-7]. There were three separate schools, Infant, Girls and Boys. They admitted children from the adjacent county areas by special agreement with Cheshire County Council. In 1953 the older city pupils were transferred to Overleigh and Love Street Secondary Schools, whilst those from adjacent county areas remained at Cherry Grove until Christleton Secondary School opened in 1958. In 1958 Cherry Grove Boys' and Girls' schools were amalgamated to form Cherry Grove Junior School. By 1980 it was called Cherry Grove County Primary School.
