DescriptionFiles of applications and approvals under Building Bye-Laws (and Planning legislation) submitted to the Housing and Town Planning Committee.
Each file usually includes a Building Regulations Application (or a Building Notice where work had already started at the date of submission), a copy of any Planning Approvals required, plan (s) and correspondence.
These files have been selected for retention following a review 25 years after submission. The Building Plans number is quoted in each case. The numeric (chronological ) order of the files has ben retained though the sequence is no longer complete or consecutive.
The following categories of application have been retained:

Joint Planning and Building Applications (except for sinage, change of use and vehicular access)
New Dwellings (usually joint approvals)
Shop fronts, fascias and major alterations City Centre/Conservation areas
'Public Building' extensions, alterations City Centre/ Conservation Areas
Roads and Sewers
Petrol Stations, large fuel tanks
New industrial or commercial premises
Major alterations to industrial/commercial premises.
