Inquest held before Robert Brerewood and Hugh Hanky, coroners, upon the body of Thomas Carden, killed by Richard Rodon of Leonum alias Holt, co. Denbigh, yeoman, on 30 Sept. 1543 with a sword, valued at 2s. which the said Richard then held in his right hand, with which he struck the said Thomas a mortal blow, from which the said Thomas died the following Friday, 5 Oct. 1543.
