Administrative HistoryThe Warrington and District Savings Bank was formed by the amalgamation of the Warrington Savings Bank and the Runcorn Savings Bank in 1913. The former was founded in 1818 and the latter in 1842. After amalgamation, the Bank was initially called Warrington, Runcorn and District Bank. In 1959, it became the Warrington and District Trustee Savings Bank, and subsequently part of the TSB.

The records consist of trustees and managers minutes, 1842 1976, rules and annual reports 1881 1972, files, 1913 1972, property records and plans 1842 1973, staff wages books 1932 1952, banking and client records 1847 1941, and miscellaneous papers incl. photographs 1893 1974.
