Administrative HistoryThe Chester Glee club originated from a singing quartet formed by lay clerks in 1881. On 2nd November the group was expanded to form the Chester Glee Club. Throughout its existence, the club maintained its amateur status and functioned as a male only choir. Dwindling membership numbers caused the club to disband in 1997.
