Date12th century-20th century
DescriptionDeeds and estate papers to properties in Churton, Farndon, Chester, Bridge Trafford, Wimbolds Trafford, Elton and Hapsford 12th century-1831, Flintshire 1637-1819, Denbighshire 1569-1829, Lancashire 13th century- 1783 and Shropshire 1610-1805; with a further unlisted series for Cheshire and Flintshire 1732-1957; rentals and accounts 1663-1895; family and personal papers 1590-1929; enclosure papers 1776-1830, including enclosure awards made principally by James Boydell, sen. and jun. and Josiah Boydell which are not obviously connected with the estate, though Roger H. Barnston (1802-1849) married as his second wife Emma Frances, daughter of James Boydell of Rossett. A Boydell was a past member of the present firm of solicitors, Gamon & Co., which acted at one time for the Barnston estate. The enclosure papers may therefore have been moved with the estate records by mistake at some time.
