Surrender and re-Admittance (Fine 40s.) to uses viz;- of Roger Downes and his heirs for term of life and 60 years, remainder Lawrence Downes son of Roger and the heirs of his body in default of which remainder Margerie Downes daughter of Roger and the heirs of her body in default of which remainder Dorothie, Katerine, Margaret, Elizabeth, Petronilla and Elena Downes Roger's daughters; in half a messuage called the Ryddyngcarr and all other Roger's tenements in Pottshrigley [Pott Shrigley] now occupied severally by Lawrence Downes Gent, John Vnwyn, the wife of Oliver Addeshed, Richard Ecchuls, Lawrence Ryxton, John Andrewe, John Normanshill, Agnes Bryne widow of Reginald Bryne, John Downes, Thomas Coghen, Robert Smalle, and the wife of John Meryman, and closes and fields in the same place in the tenure of John Pott of Pott [Pott Shrigley], and all Roger's lands in Bolynton [Bollington] held by Richard Normanshill and Richard Taillior, John Brendreth, and Richard Snorwall, and all Roger's tenements in Ranowe [Rainow] held by John Taillior and Giles Smyth, and in Sutton held by Lawrence Holey, Roger Grene, Hugh Germyn and Lawrence Pott, and a close in Hurdesfeld [Hurdsfield] held by Richard Ecchuls. Physical DescriptionParchment: 1 membrane 12" wide by 13¾", mice have eaten away a hole 3" by 2" in the centre and a bite 2½" by 1" at top middle. Seal: Pendant on label, red, round 25mm diam, chipped and effaced. Legend illegible, device three legs cojoined at the thigh flexed in a triangle.
