Francis Lindley Esq, George Piggot Esq and Thomas Minshall Gent and by a Surrender in the Hallmot of the Manor and Forest of Macclesfeild [Macclesfield] at Macclesfeild [Macclesfield] 26 April 1686 from Edward Downes, Edward Downes junior, Richard Legh of Lyme Esq and others to Francis Lindley George Piggot and Thomas Minshull; the estate being in the following - messuages etc in Bollington, Hurdsfeild [Hurdsfield] and Ranowe [Rainow] within the manor and forest of Macclesfeild [Macclesfield] lately occupied by Edward Dale, George Turner, Philip Ouldham, William Glover, John Platte, Katherine Clarke, Hugh Greene, George Shrigley, Thomas Norbury, William Wheelden, Edward Lownds and Francis Adshead tenants, and a messuage in Hurdsfeild [Hurdsfield] lately occupied by Thomas Downes Gent younger son of the sd Edward Downes senior, and chief rents from tenements in Hurdsfeild [Hurdsfield] and Bollington viz;- 8d. due from John Brundreth of Bollington, 8d. from George Turner of Bollington, 2s. 8d. from Jasper Shatwell of Bollington, 2d. from Richard Ouldham of Bollington, and 2s. from lands in Hurdsfeild [Hurdsfield] called Swanscow Parke.
