Administrative HistoryThe Chester Northgate Brewery, founded in the 1850s, originally had premises as the back of the Golden Falcon Inn in Northgate St, Chester. The company owned various public houses in Chester and also had several conveyed form the Cambrian and Kelsterton Brewing Companies. It became a subsidiary of Greenalls in 1949. There are deeds of properties owned by the Cambrian and Kelsterton Brewing Companies. Cambrian and some public houses were conveyed to Kelsterton in 1893 and there are documents suggesting that Kelsterton went into liquidation in 1900, and so these deeds passed to the Chester Northgate Company.
