Clients' papers: Most of the collection consists of bundles of correspondence, accounts and papers relating to the management of various estates on behalf of clients: Acton (Weaverham) estate of the Milner family; Backford estate (including contract and specification for erection of Backford Hall, 1848) of the Glegg and Townshend families; Bourton estate, Much Wenlock, Shropshire, of the Whitley family; Brockhurst (Leftwich) and Darnhall estates of the Verdin family; Wimboldsley estate of the United Alkali Co.; Wincham estate of the Townshend family and Winsford estate of the Dudley family, c. 1850-1950. The collection also includes some deeds, account books and plans 18th-19th centuries. |
