TitleDavenport of Worfield
Date1774-1871
DescriptionThe Davenport House was built by Smith of Warwick in 1726. The house was located in Worfield and the estate spread through Shropshire. The Davenports were one of the main landowners in the area.

These documents relate to the period of time between 1774 and 1871. The information starting in 1774, is mainly given by Vickers Valentine who worked as an agent for W.Y. Davenport on the Household and Estate Accounts. In 1826, the two names are still associated.

There are also some personal items relating to W.Y., W.B. and E. H. Davenport within 1791 and 1871. The primer had his personal bank account in Bridgnorth.

The papers came into the possession of the Leicester family by the marriage, in 1904, of Cuthbert Leicester-Warren, to Hilda Marguerite daughter of E. Davenport.
