Part of Nether Alderley township was added in 1910, and in 1936 parts of the civil parishes of Wilmslow and Chorley and the parish of Bollinfee were further added to the urban district. In 1974 Alderley Edge UDC amalgamated with several neighbouring urban and rural district councils to form Macclesfield Borough Council. [See: LDM list for post-1974 records].
