| Administrative History | This company probably developed in the fourteenth century as a craft guild. Together with the Walkers, the company produced the last play in the cycle of mystery plays. A charter was granted to the company by the mayor in 1583. The company met in a building in St. John's Churchyard in the seventeenth century (probably the Hermitage) and later in various taverns in Chester. |
