DescriptionAgreement for lease of lands in Aston iuxta Mondrum. Agreement between Richard de Munshull senior and William del Mere, whereby Richard leases to William a piece of land and waste with wood growing thereon in Aston subtus Mondrem bounded by (inter alia) the wood of Cholmondeston and lands of Thomas Hallesone, for 20 years from Ascension Day (29 May) 1337, with liberty to enter and leave the property by the road to Wych Malbank [Nantwich], with licence to take any fruit growing there and to raise as many buildings as they wish thereon, paying annually 40 silver shillings; at the end of the term, Richard will pay William and his wife 20 shillings of silver or otherwise William and his wife will remove all buildings within one month. Witnesses: John de Wrennebury then Sheriff of Chester, Ralph de Wetenhale, William Hamelyn, Ralph son of Nicholas de Crue, John de Wevere and many others. Seal in white wax on tag.
