[1] John de Mottram, of agreement and consent of Roger, his firstborn son and heir, has given, granted [2] and confirmed to Ralph, his son, for his homage and service, all the land of the Dene with appurtenances, within the boundaries [3] which the said Roger, his son, previously held. To be had and held to the said Ralph, his heirs or assigns, saving [4] the chief lords and the clergy, of John and his heirs, freely, quietly, well, and in peace, in fee and by hereditary right without any [5] reservation forever, with all liberties, profits, easements anywhere pertaining to the said land of the Dene; Tolfre of corn in the mill [6] of Mottram as it is assigned there for their own house; Tacfre everywhere in the wood of Sykenith of their own pigs or those of their tenants on the said land, [7] also with sufficient husbold and haybold in the aforesaid wood of Sykenith. Rendering thence annually to John de Mottram [8] and his heirs from the said Ralph and his heirs or assigns one pair of white gloves on the feast of all Saints [9] for every secular service, claim and demand, saving foreign service.
