[1] William Toste [Tofte] has given, granted and confirmed to John of Torboke, one [2] saltworks of eight leads lying in the vill of Northwico [Northwich] as it lies in length and width between 'le Wenall' on [3] the southern side running to the water of Daan[e], and on the northern side it abuts one saltworks of the king [4] which contains twelve leads, and on the eastern side [it abuts] 'le gromhyel' and on the western side against[above?] one saltworks [5] of the lord. To be had and held of William and his heirs with all appurtenances to the said John [6] of Torboke, his heirs and assigns, freely, quietly, fully, well, honourably, and in peace with all its liberties [7] and commodities. Rendering annually to William and his heirs, just as to the chief lord of that fee services of the saltworks [8] due and customary of law.
