4 August 1327
Latin
12" x 7"

1 Know present and future that I Richard de Blecheley parson of the church of Tylstan have given, granted and by this my present charter confirmed to Patrick
2 of Barton all my lands and tenements which I had by gift and enfeoffment of the aforesaid Patrick in the towns of Barton, Pulfort and Clutton with all
3 their appurtenances together with reversion of all lands and tenements which or which my mother Margery holds in the aforesaid towns to have and to hold all
4 the aforesaid land and tenements with the aforesaid reversions when they have happened to the aforesaid Patrick for his lifetime of the chief lords of those fees by
5 services thence owed and accustomed by right so that immediately after the death of Patrick I wish and grant that all the aforesaid land and tenements with the
6 aforesaid reversions when they have happened should remain to David of Barton son of the aforesaid Patrick and the heirs of David’s body lawfully procreated of
7 the chief lords of that fee by services thence owed and accustomed and if God forbid the aforesaid David were to die without heirs of his body lawfully
8 procreated then I wish and grant that all the aforesaid land and tenements with the aforesaid reversions when they have happened should remain to Richard brother
9 of the aforesaid David and heirs of his body lawfully procreated to hold of the chief lords of those fees by services thence owed and accustomed. And if God forbid
10 the aforesaid Richard were to die without heirs of his body lawfully procreated then I wish and grant that all the aforesaid land and tenements with the aforesaid
11 reversions when they have happened should remain to Thomas brother of the aforesaid Richard and heirs of his body lawfully procreated to hold of the chief lords of
12 those fees by services thence owed and accustomed. And if God forbid the aforesaid Thomas were to die without heirs of his body lawfully procreated then
13 I wish and grant that all the aforesaid land and tenements with the aforesaid reversions when they have happened should remain to John brother of the aforesaid
14 Thomas and heirs of his body lawfully procreated to hold of the chief lords of those fees by services thence owed and accustomed. And if god forbid the
15 aforesaid John were to die without heirs of his body lawfully procreated then I wish and grant that all the aforesaid land and tenements with the aforesaid reversions
16 when they have happened should remain wholly to the rightful heirs of the aforesaid Patrick forever to hold of the chief lords of those fees by services thence owed
17 and accustomed. And truly I the aforesaid Richard de Blecheley and my heirs will warrant and forever defend against all people all the aforesaid land and tenements
18 with the aforesaid reversions when they have happened to the aforesaid Patrick for his lifetime in the aforesaid form.
19 In witness of which I have affixed my seal to this my present charter. These being witnesses Sir Richard Dauncey then Justice of Chester, John Wrennebury then
20 sheriff of Chester, William of Malpas, William of Hampton, Robert of Coddington and others. Given at Barton on Tuesday next after the feast of St Peter in the year of our Lord 1327 [4 August 1327]
