Grant by Madoc son of Madoc to Yevan his son of 2 bovates of land in the fields of Brocton [Broxton] which were once held by Richard son of Griffin, and 4 messuages in the vill of Brocton, formerly held by Hova son of Werusol(?), Wibne(?) son of Ioruerht' Gdr', Eddenet the smith ("faber") and Richard de Codynton, and 25 selions of land (individually named) which Anian son of Griffin once held, and a messuage with 4 butts which Stephen son of William once held; and half a bovate of land which Likepot once held of the said Anian son of Griffin, and the land with a messuage which Madoc had from Madoc Kat in the vill of Brocton; and the land which he had of Anian son of Yevan in the same vill, and 7 selions of land in le Oldefelde with a messuage which Meiler son of Amiche(?) once held; and all that land (described) which he had by the gift of Ioruerth son of Wirich; and all the land (described) which he had by the gift of Anian son of Meiler. Witnesses: Reginald de Grey then justiciar of Chester, Richard de Mascy, Patrick de Haselwelle, Roger Tyrel, kts., Roger Ingald then rector of the church of Hawirthin [Hawarden], Roger Throstle, Ralph Corbyn, William son of Ralph, Adam le Botiler, Richard son of Roger, Ralph de Aldeford, Richard son of Meiler, Warin de Hul', clerk, and others. Seal in green wax on tag, "S MADOCI FIL MADOCI BR[O]XTUN".
