[1] Party 1 Thomas Pesecod de Aldersey in complete power of disposition [2] to party 2 Richard, his son, and his heirs [3] or assigns, his entire tenement and meadow which he possessed or had power to possess [4] in the field called le Newe Ruding, in Middle Aldersey between these borders, namely the marler [5] of Hugh in le Wodesal, as far as le Seven Okys [Seven Oaks] in width, and from the boundary of Cruk Aldersey [Crook Aldersey] [6] and of Clutton to le outlone in Middle Aldersey in length, with one piece of his land called [7] le Merstal with all its appurtenances and with that messuage which Party 3 Hugh, his brother, previously held from him [Thomas] on lease [8] with as many messuages as the said Richard [party 2] and his heirs or assigns will wish to make on the said tenement. [9]To be had and held of party 1 and his heirs or assigns to party 2 [10] and his heirs or their assigns, or to whomever they may wish to give, bequeath, sell, or in any way [11] alienate (the lands), [12] with husbold, haybold, tacfre, and stalagefre, [13] and with the wood of the greenwood and the forbidden(?) for him and his heirs and everyone dwelling in the aforesaid tenement [14] and with the turf-pits for all their needs with a large entry and exit, and with permission to trench [15] the aforesaid tenement on all sides which will be necessary, and right of free pasture to graze all their livestock in all [16] woods so that party 1 and his heirs or assigns can graze their livestock within these named boundaries of [17] Middle Aldersey with all commons pertaining to the said vill, and to receive [18] for party 2 and his heirs or assigns all profits issuing from the said tenement. [20] Consideration: one rose annually on the feast of St. John the Baptist, to place at my chief messuage at Aldersey, for all [21] services, exactions, customs and demands, and for claim and answer within and without the court [22] for Wyte and Wreythe and quarrels, and for scutage and legal aid, and for any distraint and with acquittance [23] of homage and relief and service, and seisin of ox and warde, by thereby making nothing to me nor my heirs [24] nor assigns, nor by answering excepting the aforesaid rose.
