[1] Party 1 Hugh, son of Simon de Clutton to party 2 John, his son and [ his wife] Alice, [2] daughter of Thomas, son of Hugh dil Halle and the heirs of their bodies, all his messuages and curtilages and all his lands and tenements [3] and meadows with their appurtenances in the vills of Clutton and Aldersey which he possessed, had possessed, or in any way could possess, to be had and held [4] to parties 2, and their lawful heirs to hold of the chief lord [5] freely, quietly, rightly and in peace, in fee and by hereditary right, with all common liberties, and easements pertaining to the said tenements and lands by right in perpetuity. [6] by performing thereby for the chief lord of that fee all services thereby owed and accustomed, for every secular service, tax, or demand. [7] And should John and Alice die without heir then all aforesaid lands and tenements and [8] meadows with their appurtenances shall remain to party 1 Hugh and his lawful heirs in full without any hindrance or objection in perpetuity, [9] by performing thereby for the chief lord of that fee services thereby owed and accustomed by right.
