He was to be buried at Great Budworth. The profits of lands with which he had enfeoffed Thomas Stanley, Richard Brereton & John Maisterson were to be used half for Adam Leicester, his younger son & half for William Leicester, son of Peter Leicester (indenture April 15th 17 Elizabeth 1575). To the heirs of male of his body all the manor house of Neither Tabley [Nether Tabley] etc. to Margaret Birkhened, wife of Richard, £10 in full recompense of her marriage; to Katherin Newton £10 for her preferrment in marriage; to Margaret Leicester and Ellen Leicester, daughters of John Leicester, to each of them 2 Kyen. To each of his servants a quarters wages, to Laurence Leicester, his brother 40s. All deeds etc. relating to their estates to Adam & William Leicester; to Katherine Leicester, daughter of his son, Peter a cow; to Ales Birkhened, a cow, to William Booth and Thomas Stanley his executors one of his best horses. To William, Adam, Elizabeth & Ellen Leicester all his goods and chattels. Signed Peter Leicester. Tag. but seal lost. English. Attached is an inventory of all his goods and chattels made by Henry Henshall; John Yeanes, & John Wyllington, April 22nd.
