DescriptionMap, section and book of references of a proposed railway from Macclesfield in Cheshire to Willington in Derbyshire and Tamworth in Staffordshire with a branch to Stoke upon Trent in Staffs.
Initially forking off the Manchester and Birmingham Branch Railway at Macclesfield then running through the Cheshire parishes of Prestbury, Gawsworth, then on through Staffordshire and Derbyshire to join the Birmingham and Derby Railway at Willington, Derbyshire. 44 miles in length.
A fork at the 34 mile point in Hanbury Staffs leading to Tamworth in Warwickshire which is 54 miles from Macclesfield.
A branch from the 15 mile point at Leek in Staffs to Stoke upon Trent, 9m 7f in length.
