TitleHull and Holyhead Direct Railway
Date30 November 1845
DescriptionA set of plans for the Hull and Holyhead Direct Railway.
These appear to be preliminary drawings showing fields etc. where the railway is intended to run. The actual line of the railway is only shown on a few sheets. Very few locations are named, the only Cheshire references being to the townships of Delamere, Henbury, Copesthorne and Sidding. [Siddington ?]
There is a good street plan of part of Sheffield.
It is not clear where the plan commences and ends as so little detail or other geographical features are shown.
The printed front cover named W.H.Smith as the Engineer, but this has been crossed out and a note added " These plans were not completed by William Henry Smith"
The is a book of references, [but it only relates to the railway from Chester To Sheffield and possibly to a completed version of the plans.]
There are some sections included but these are as vague as the plans.
Many sheets are bound into the volume upside down.
