DescriptionPages 46-57. The only date in this book is a port entry on Page 53v. dated 15th March 'Ao XX'. This suggests that the book belongs to the year 1504-05, but as a book exists for this year, this cannot be so, and it probably belongs to the following year. Pages 46-47v. Fines Page 46. Fines from Bruggestrete. Mainly fines for the year pro mercandis suis. One fine is also for toll at the gate. Names of 22 persons. Amounts ranging from 8d. to 5s. Page 46v. Fines from Watergatestrete. Names of two women. Page 47. Fines from Northgatestrete. Names of three persons, one for affray of the peace. Page 47v. Fines of country fishermen. Names of seven persons, each described as 'carior' pro mercandis suis hoc anno infra Civitatem Cestriae exercendis. Page 48, 48v. Customs entries. Customs of merchants from parts of England to Ireland. 19th Oct.-30th Aug. 37 persons making entry and exit with horses and carts and their payments. Pages 49-51v. blank. Pages 52-6v. Port entries. Customs of merchants out of Ireland to the City of Chester. First entry dated 21st Oct. [1505?]. Entry last but two dated 25th Sept. [1506?]. 25 ships. Names of ships and of merchants with some payments for entry and/or exit. Very few cargoes given. Page 57, 57v. blank.
