Page 121. 21st June, 32 Hen. VIII [1540]. John Ruse of Ebato, Martin Perows of Eloya, Adam Godeman of the City of Chester, merchant, and Ralph Godeman of the same, senior, merchant, acknowledged that they owed the King £500, to be paid at the Feast of St. John Baptist following. Condition: Neither John Ruse and Martin Perows nor their mariners or servants shall remove two ships called the 'Barbera de Aleketu' and the 'Nicholas de Aleketu' from 'the roode of the redd bank nor Heswall' until the King shall be fully served in transporting his soldiers into Ireland or until they shall be otherwise licensed by the Mayor of Chester or his deputy. Page 121v. 22nd June, 32 Hen.VIII [1540]. John Leche of the City of Chester, senior, tanner, and John Leche of the same, junior, tanner, acknowledged that they owed the King 40s. to be paid at the Feast of St. John Baptist. Condition: John Leche, junior to pay to the Sheriffs all the fines, amercements and fees owing by him before the Feast of St. Bartholomew.
