John Smythe, Sheriff, brought here to be appraised a cup of silver gilt with a cover, of the goods and chattels of Ralph Bostok, taken by the said Sheriff to make execution for 22s:4d debt and 4d damages recovered by William Longley against Robert Fleccher and the same Ralph Bostok, his pledge, in this court. Appraised by Richard Low, Richard Hewer(?), John Carter and Thomas Smythe. Pages 151-55. County Court Pleas Headings only, except for two entries. 13 sessions on Mondays, between 18th Oct., 1540 and 19th Sept., 1541. Page 151v. Arthur Glegg, gentleman, was exacted for the first time at the suit of John Cowper, of the City of Chester, baker, on a plea of the taking and unjust detention of one cow, and he did not appear. Arthur Glegg, gentleman, was exacted for the first time at the suit of Robert Brerewod of the City of Chester, glover, on a plea of the taking and unjust detention of Robert's [?], and did not appear. John Norbury of Frodisham: that he should appear in person before the King's Commissioners in the Marches of Wales on May 11th following and not go away without licence, under pain of £100.
