9. Presentment by the jury that Bunche [Bunce] Lane had become impassable for carts and almost impassable for men and horses as in recent years much of the filth of the city had been laid there, and that land holders on the W. side of the said lane had thus encroached upon the same.

13. Petition of William Dickson of Liverpool, co. Lancaster, gentleman. to see the Mayor and Justices of the Peace, concerning the watercourse running down Eastgate Street by the Eastgate, which watercourse being stopped up, the tower of the Eastgate was greatly decayed, and the water flowed into a cellar adjoining the Eastgate belonging to the said William, then in the occupation of Richard ?Frames, shoemaker. Asks that at the next Quarter Sessions the jury should be asked to enquire into the same, so that the Justices can order the watercourse to be repaired.

14. Presentment by the jury that Hugh Willins of Chester, glover, and Ellen his wife on 1 July 1594 at Chester in St. John's Lane caused the said Hugh Willans to escape from John Ridley of Chester, serjeant at peace, after the said Hugh had been arrested by the said John Ridley.
