Administrative HistoryHale U.D. was formed in 1900. Under the new system of local government introduced by the Local Government Acts of 1888 and 1894 the Hale ratepayers elected seven parish councillors, and two representatives or 'guardians' to the new Bucklow R.D. one for the west and one for the east ward. Some ratepayers soon wished to promote application for U.D. status for Hale itself, while others were in favour of amalgamation with Altrincham. An enquiry was held by Cheshire County Council and as a result, a new U.D.C. of twelve was elected in 1900. See R. N. Dore A History of Hale, Cheshire 1972
