DescriptionLETTER by Rev. Richard J. Statham, Tarporley Rectory, to R.Wilbraham, esq., jun., Rhode near Congleton, concerning a Meeting held at Tarporley on 27. Oct. relating to Commutation of Tithes in par. of TARPORLEY. He wishes the figures for the years 1822 and 1826 to be taken into account instead of those for 1834 and 1835 (as they are considerably higher than those for the two latter years) in assessing the average for 7 years. He sets out figures for his two predecessors' incumbencies.SURVEYOR'S OPINION (at end of letter) dated 7. Nov. 1836, signed Thomas: Burgess, stating that Mr. Statham's estimate of an average of œ700 p.a. is a reasonable and just demand to form the basis for a permanent Commutation of Tithes of the par. of TARPORLEY. Paper.
