Administrative History	In 1715 John Finney, deputising for John Leigh of Adlington who was ill, acted as Captain of the Militia for the Hundred of Macclesfield. The Militia assembled at Knutsford in October but was soon dismissed. It reassembled there on 7 Nov. and after six days of exercises, marched to Manchester. The Cheshire Militia was disbanded at the end of the rebellion.
