| Description | Cuthbert Leighton inherited the name Leicester Warren and the Tabley estates from his mother Eleanor. His older brother was Sir Balwyn Leighton. He married Hilda, daughter of Edmund Davenport of Worfield. They had two children, Margaret and John [1907-1975], who inherited the title but died without issue. Cuthbert served as: Justice of the Peace and Deputy Lieutenant, Cheshire. Hon Major Royal Army Service Corps, MT (V), Captain and Adjutant 16th BN London Regiment during Word War I; High Sheriff of Cheshire 1921-1922; Army Welfare Officer during World War II. |
