[1] John, son of lord William of Venables, [2] to Roger, son of William of Tofte [Toft], and Margery, his wife, all his land with buildings, gardens, [3] curtilages, meadows, and all other appurtenances which he held, or in any way had power to hold, from a gift of Ranulph le Kyng and [Kynges] [4] Margery, his wife in the region of 'le Stubbes' [Stublach], without any witholding. To be had and held of the chief [5] lords lf the said fee to Roger and Margery and their heirs and assigns, freely, quietly, well and peaceably, rightly and hereditarily [6] forever, with all common liberties, conveniences, and easements, meadows, pastures, moors, marsh, [7] turbaries, waters, lanes, footpaths, marl-pits, and all other places wherever they pertain to the said land and vill of 'le Stubbes' [Stublach]. [8] By rendering annually and performing services owed and of law customary for the said chief lords of the fee [9] for all secular services and demands. [Warranty clause].
