| Description | The rentals, in folio format, relate to the marquess' Cheshire estates, including those of Lord Henry Cholmondeley from 1872. They were collected annually at Lady Day from 1853 to 1886, in 1894 and 1895 and half-yearly from Michaelmas 1886 to Lady Day 1892. The rental for 1893 is missing. From Michaelmas 1886 the Rocksavage and Lord Henry's estates are listed together as the Frodsham division.
Casual receipts are usually itemised after the main rental; from 1853 to 1865, Home Farm receipts are entered; from 1871 to Lady Day 1885 receipts from game rents and sale of game are entered; from 1873 to Lady day 1885 payments to bankers are entered. |
