Administrative History	Originally established by Messrs. Murgatroyds & Co. 1893. Bought by Brunner, Mond & Co. 1895; rebuilt and reopened 1897. Records also include shareholders' ledger of the nearby Cheshire Alkali & Salt Co. Ltd, established 1887 but dismantled by arrangement with Brunner, Mond & Co. 1897.
