Later acquired estates in Bridge Trafford, Wimbolds Trafford, Hapsford, Elton and Chester. 18th century marriages brought Lancashire and Shropshire estates to the family. Roger Barnston, son of Roger Barnston as executor of the will of Thomas Crachley Wynne (died 1778) acquired an interest in the Bagillt estate of the Pennant family in Flintshire with its lead smelting works. Marriages to the heiresses of the Trafford, Gregg and Hurleston families brought to the family further Cheshire estates. |
