| Administrative History | John Stancliff established the Sutton Brewery, Byrons Lane, Macclesfield in 1855. By 1871 they had become Messers Stancliff and later Stancliff Brothers. In 1897 Stancliff Brothers Limited was formed to acquire Stancliff Brothers. The company later acquired the Park Brewery, Chapel-en-le-Frith in Derby. Lonsdale & Asdhead Limited acquired the company with 40 licensed houses in 1920. Shortly afterwards the Chapel-en-Le-frith Brewery was sold to Hampton Brothes (Buxton) Limited. |
