Administrative HistoryThe Earl of Chester Lodge was formed in 1875, and sponsored by De Tabley Lodge No.941 as members from that lodge did not wish to travel from Lymm to Knutsford. The Earl of Chester Lodge have had many different meeting venues throughout its history, the first being The Church Hotel in Lymm from 1875 to 1914, moving to The Plough Hotel Lymm and the Spread Eagle Hotel, also in Lymm. The meeting venue of the Lodge from 1972 was The Fir Grove Hotel in Grappenhall.
