DescriptionBundle of papers relating to the acquisition and sale of the Bolesworth Castle estate, which was bought by Thomas Tarleton at the sale of the estates of the late Oswald Moseley esq, and sold to George Walmesley in 1826, after Thomas Claughton failed to complete his proposed purchase. The bundle includes sale particulars of the estate in 1805, a ground plan of Bolesworth Castle as offered for sale in 1821, sale particulars with map, 1826, and a map of lands in Harthill showing the realignment of a road, n.d. Also includes papers regarding compensation for slaves on Mount Pleasant estate in Grenada c1804-1838, and deeds of estate in Antigua, West Indies, plus a register of enslaved people on Tollemache plantations in Antigua c1828.
