Description(counterpart) for 3 lives by Sir Richard Brooke, of Norton, Bart., to Thomas Cheshire of Norton, yeoman, for lives of his daughter Mary, his son John, and of Pusey Brooke of Portsmouth, Hants, esq. ------- Messuage and tenement with the lands and hereditaments thereto belonging in ACTON GRANGE called Hattons and containing 30 acres of the measure there used heretofore of Edward Hatton, deceased, but now in possession of said Thomas Cheshire with all houses, gardens, orchards, lands, common of pasture and of turbary, hereditaments and appurtenances, etc., (EXCEPT all timber and other trees and all mines delfs and quarries of any kind, reserved to the lessor) at rent of £1. 10. 0d., leading 1 load yearly of coal from the Lancs. coal pits to the Manor House at NORTON or 3/- in lieu, 1 acre haymaking or 5/- in lieu, 2 days' harvesting yearly or 1/- in lieu, providing an able man to work at the lessor's waterworks within the liberties of ACTON GRANGE when required for which 4d. per diem will be allowed.
