Description | (counterpart) prior to the MARRIAGE of Thomas Brooke, esq., s. & h. of Sir Richard Brooke of Norton, Bart., with Grace Wilbraham, one of the daughters of Roger Wilbraham of Nantwich, esq., between (1) the said Sir R. Brooke and Dame Francisca Posthuma his wife, and the said Thomas Brooke, (2) the said Roger Wilbraham, the said Grace Wilbraham, Sir Thomas Bellott of Moreton, Bart., and Sir John Arderne of Hawarden, Knt., and (3) Peter Legh of Lyme, Richard Legh of High Legh, esquires, Randall Wilbraham, s. & h. of said Roger Wilbraham, and Ralph Wilbraham, s. & h. of Peter Wilbraham of Dorfold, esq., in Consideration of the marriage and of £3500 paid by Roger Wilbraham to Sir R.Brooke as the marriage portion of his daughter Grace, whereby -------- (1) above Release to Sir Thomas Bellott and Sir John Arderne the MANOR or LORDSHIP of NORTON with STOCKHAM alias Stockcome with its rights, members and appurtenances, and the MANORS or GRANGES ASTON GRANGE and ACTON GRANGE with their rights, members and appurtenances, and also closes or parcels of land with their appurtenances called the New Fields (20 acres) in the MANOR of MOORE now or late in the respective tenures of Thomas Earle, John Barton, John Dunbabbin, Thomas Peirson, and Anne Aparke, widow, and also 2 several messuages, farms or tenements with their appurtenances called Perrivalls Farm and Boltons Farm in the LORDSHIP and MANOR of HALTON, and also 2 several messuages or cottages with appurtenances and respective lands in HALTON now or late in the several tenures of Gilbert Ratcliffe and John Maddock, and also 1 messuage or tenement with its lands in RUNCORN late in possession of Robert Runcorne, deceased, and now in that of Samuel Runcorn, tailor, and also a chief Rent of 6/- p.a. issuing from a messuage in ASTON formerly in possession of ----- Guest and now in that of Sir Willoughby Aston, Bart., and also the MANOR or LORDSHIP of CUERDLEY, Lancs., with its rights, members and appurtenances, and also all Sir Richard Brooke's and/or Thomas Brooke's other messuages, lands, tenements, rents, services, fishings, and hereditaments in CUERDLEY?, and all cottages, farms, tenements, gardens, orchards, lands, mills, woods, mosses, waters, fishings, quarries, Courts Leet and Baron, etc., and hereditaments whatsoever to the said several MANORS or LORDSHIPS, messuages, lands, hereditaments and premises belonging, and also all Sir R. Brooke's and/or Dame Francisca Posthuma's and/or Thomas Brooke's other Manors or Lordships or reputed as such, Mills, cottages, lands, tenements, rents, services and hereditaments in CHESHIRE and/or LANCASHIRE, to the following Uses:- (1) To Use of Sir Richard Brooke until the said Marriage has taken place. (2) After the said Marriage, the MANOR or GRANGE called ASTON GRANGE to the Use of Sir R. Brooke. (3) The messuage or house called Hankinsons House and the new building thereto belonging, parcels of land called the Great Bottom Meadow, the Little Bottom Meadow, the broad meadow, the Marld field, the little orchard field, the Crosse field, the Coney Greens, the sillyloe field, the sandy moores with the plaines, the horse coppy near the swine park, the faulke acre, with their appurtenances (being part and parcel of the demesne lands of the MANOR of NORTON with CTOCKHAM alias STOCKCOME) to the Use of Thomas Brooke and his intended wife Grace for their joint lives and the longer liver of them. (4) Parcels of land called the Church Field, the Great Orchard field, the Landers field, the seven acres, the Well Parke, the marshes, the warth meadow, the Higher full pasture, the lower full pasture, the Cally Yards, the seven acres meadow, the Ten acres meadow, the Rushy pasture, the Three Cookson heys, the three intacks, the three mosse acres, the corner croft, Mathers Meadow, the house called Andertons House with the land thereto belonging formerly in possession of John Crosby, Heywoods Coppy together with the orchard backside and meadow thereto belonging, together with a croft called Margery Hicksons Croft, with their appurtenances, all the last recited messuages and parcels of land being part and parcel of the demesne lands of the MANOR of NORTON with STOCKHAM, and also Perrivall's Farm and Bolton's Farm with the appurtenances in HALTON to be charged with a clear annuity of £200 to said Thomas Brooke for life and after his death, to said Grace if she survives him, in lieu of dower from all the said Thomas Brooke's Manors, messuages, lands, tenements and hereditaments of which he shall die seized. (5) Dunbabbins Farm in ASHTON GRANGE, the parts of the Capital Messuage or Mansion House called NORTON HALL in NORTON called the highmost Turrett, the Middle Turrett, the lowest Turrett, the Green Chamber, the Brookes Chamber and the Rooms under the same, the Gate-House Chamber and the Rooms under the same, the Dove-house Garden, the Parlour Garden, and also room for stabling and the storing of hay, to the Use of Sir R. Brooke and Dame Francisca Posthuma Brooke during their joint lives and the longer liver of them but charged with the payment of the yearly rent of £3 p.a. after Sir R. Brooke's death to said Thomas Brooke. (6) Parcels of land called the four High Fields, the Geds, the Sanders Heyes, the Great Cryme, the two Little Crymes, the Morleyes, Burges Meadow, the Poole Heads, the Sanders Moore, the Salt Pleck, the Shepherds Moore, the Simpcocks high field, the Marsh Meadow, the Sanders Meadow, the Runcorne Meadow, the Ox Moores, the Okells Moores, the seven acre meadow, the Silly Rowe Meadow, the Rush Cryme Meadow, the Stubbs Meadow, the Ten Acre Meadow, the whole Row meadow, the Savage Meadow, the four Acre Meadow, the Two Acre meadow, the Three Acre meadow, the Great Gorsty Barlowe, the Burges Hill and the Rye Shoot above the Horse Parke, and two messuages, cottages or dwelling houses called Thomas Barlowes house, John Lawtons house and parcels of land called the Tanners Parke, with their appurtenances (all which said last recited messuages and parcels of land are part and parcel of the demesne lands of the MANOR of NORTON with STOCKHAM alias STOCKCOME) to the Use of Sir R. Brooke for life and after his death Dame Francisca Posthuma Brooke shall receive an Annuity therefrom for life of £200 in lieu of all dower she may claim from all the Manors, lands, tenements of the said Sir R. Brooke. (7) To the Uses of Thomas Brooke and his heirs male, the first being preferred to the second and so forth, but failing such heirs to the Uses of the heirs male of Sir R.
