Defendant's Works are exclusively used as Alkali Works mainly in production of Sulphate of Soda, Caustic Soda & Bleaching Powder. Hydrochloric Acid gas and Chlorine gas are evolved in large quantities. Both affect metlas and the respiratory organs. Plaintiffs claim that during the past 2 years volumes of these gasses emitted by the Works have and are causing them great injury by rusting their delicate working instruments and their machines.
