DescriptionINQUISITION POST MORTEM of David son of John del Malpas, taken before Henry de Ravenscroft, escheator of Cheshire. --- the said David held no lands of the king in chief, but held a certain piece of land called Cronnemosse next BYKURTON [Bickerton] in chief by knight service, of John de Sutton Baron of Malpas, who in under age and in the wardship of the lord king, and by rent of 12d. and suit of court at Malpas, and it is of the annual value of 5/-; 1 messuage and 40 acres of land called le Mulnefyld in BYKURTON of said John de Sutton, by knight service and the rebt of 13d., of the annual value of 11/-; 3 messuages and 100 acres in HANTON next EGGERTON of the said John de Sutton by knight service and the rent of 1d. or a pair of gloves, of the annual value of 10 marks; 1 messuage and land in EBNALL of the said John de Sutton by knight service, of the annual value of 20/-; a messuage and 10 acres of land in BROXON [Broxton] of the said John de Sutton by knight service, of the annual value of 10/-; 1 messuage which William le Walker holds of the said David for a term of years in MALPAS of the said John de Sutton by knight service, of the annual value of 9/-; 2 messuages in GREAT ALDERSAY [Aldersey] and CROXE ALDERSAY of the said John de Sutton by knight service, of the annual value of 20/-, several lands and tenements in TATENHALE [Tattenhall] of the Lord of Tatenhale, service not known, the said David died 4th June 1420, and Ellen and Katherine his sisters are his next heirs, and are of the respective ages of 5 and 3.
