DescriptionARTICLES of AGREEMENT (counterpart) between (1) Hugh Viscount Cholmondeley and (2) John Moorton of Ellerton, Salop, William Boycott of [ ], Salop, and Richard Corfield of Harley, Salop, gentlemen, whereby, in consideration of a sum of money to be paid, (1) has bargained and sold to (2) all the cordwood he shall order to be laid down [ ] one tenement in CHORLEY in possession of Charles Fletcher, gentleman, and one tenement in RIDLEY in tenure of Francis Heyward, and a piece of ground [in] RIDLEY Field in tenure of Joseph Steel for the space of [ ] to commence 29. Sep. last past, and (2) to have till 29. Sep. 1698 for the coleing and taking of the s[ame]. The Viscount to be at the charge of the laying down of the said wood, and (2) to do their work as most convenient with right of way to LEA Forge, the Viscount to spare such lands as he wishes, but (2) not to be hindered thereby. (2) promise to pay 7/- for each cord of wood to be corded during the term of 29. Sep. 1697. The dimensions of the wood and of the cords are set out. etc. Signed by John Moreton, Will.
