DescriptionDEED OF PARTITION between Thomas Brooke of Norton Esq. and Richard Bidgate of Norton, yeoman, whereby after reciting a Duchy of Lancaster lease dated 22. Nov. 1602 to the said Thomas Brooke and Richard Ridgate of the passage and ferry over the water of RUNCORNE near the Town of Runcorne with appurtenances, parcel of the Duchy of Lancaster in the Counties of Lancaster and Chester, the fishing of the water of HALTON called Halton Fyshgarth with appurtenances and meadow called Muncks Meadowe alias Mountesmeadowe alias Mountaynes Meadowe in the lordship of Halton, the said Ferry and fishing for 21 years in reversion and the said meadow for 21 years next ensuing aftre the feast of the Annunciation 1620, at annual rents of 6/8, 7/- and 9/4 respectively, it is agreed that the said Richard Ridgate shall have and enjoy the said passage or ferry over the water of Runcorne, and the said Thomas Brooke the said fishing of the water of Halton and the said Meadow for the several terms of 21 years at the rents above specified. Endorsed: "A particion betwene my Mr. and me of the Duche Lees whereby the Ferry is allotted to mee. The Counterpane". Seal: Red, letters 'R.R.' Parchment. Note: For Assignment of 6.
