DescriptionDEED OF EXCHANGE between Sir Roger de Chedle Kt., and Roger son of Robert Lowe de Clifton, of part of their lands in the territory of CLIFTON, whereby the said Sir Roger de Chedle and his heirs and assigns shall have 1 piece of land between the new ditch made at smalbrokeshemd and a selion of Robert del Wode called le Grenemeneweylond as Roger Lowe formerly held it in length and breadth, and a piece of ground on the other side between Grenemeneweylond and the land of Roger de Chedle called le Rugges, ½ acre of land lying in le (Overe) Guese and 4 .. of land in (S)calgr(ene) abutting on the land of Robert de Bolde and on le Lithelondes, 1 selion lying on le Lithelondes, the forinsec ... of a certain assart of the said Roger Lowe beyond le Radelstones as it was measured between the said Roger and Roger; the said Roger Lowe his heirs and assigns shall have 1 piece of land between le portewey and the land of Roger Lowe which he holds in fee and heredity in Elmeresscholes, 1 end butting on the land of William de Aston and Alan Bercarus, and the other on le Wodewey which leads from Clifton to Sutton, without any common ingress or egress on the land of the said Roger Lowe on the part of Roger de Chedle his heirs or assigns, or on the part of Roger Lowe his heirs or assigns, reserving to the said Sir Roger de Chedle his ditch and a small piece of unassarted land between his assart next Radilstones and the land of Roger de Chedle with a certain small increase of headland on okelondis.
