Administrative History | Groves and Whitnall was established as a limited company in February 1899. It was based at the Regent Road Brewery in Salford. In December 1940 the brewery suffered severe bomb damage in an air raid. In May 1961 Greenall, Whitley and Co Ltd submitted a formal offer for the company which received the backing of the Board and the sale was completed by July 1961. Groves and Whitnall continued to trade until at least 1969.
