Description | Indenture between John Shard of the city of Chester, apothecary, and Mary his wife, on the 1st part, Robert Leen of Woodchurch, gentleman, on the 2nd part, and Samuel Leen of the city of Chester, joiner, on the 3rd part. release by John Shard and Mary his wife to Robert Leen of all their right in lands in Woodchurch purchased from George Hiccock. Reciting that Robert Hiccock, gentleman, deceased, settled his lands by Indenture dated 21 Sept. 1663, before his marriage with Elizabeth Gamull, widow (afterwards his wife and now his relict). That the said Robert Hiccocke left issue by the said Elizabeth, George Hiccocke since deceased and the said Mary Shard, being his only daughter and younger child. And that there was a Case lately depending in the Court of the Exchequer at Chester, wherein the said John Shard and Mary his wife were plaintiffs against the said George Hiccocke and the said Elizabeth his mother and against Thomas Hiccock (eldest son of the said Robert Hiccock by his former wife, and by Decree dated 28 July 1693 it was decreed that John Shard and his wife should dispose of the lands charged with her portion. |
